About the partners

The Region of Jönköping is strategically located in the centre of South Sweden. The capital Jönköping is the location of Elmia, one of the major trade fair organisations in Sweden and hence business tourism is of great importance to the region. The foremost feature of the region is the nature, with large forests and wilderness similar to the great wilderness found in the north of Sweden. Other main features and attractions originate from historical and industrial background, Eksjö – the best preserved wooden town in Sweden, awarded with Europa Nostra Diploma in 1997, the match museum in Jönköping, the Husqvarna museum and Gränna-Visingsö, once founded by the count Brahe in the 17th century are only some examples. The by far largest attraction in the region though, the western town High Chaparral, is built on history and inspiration from elsewhere!

We are convinced that participation in PRESERVE will contribute to the sustainable development of  our region. Exchanging experiences and learning from best practice are methods that we believe lead to development, provided the parties involved are ready to adjust if necessary and necessary means are accessible.

Objectives in PRESERVE

Our main objective for the project is to find methods to implement sustainable development in the daily work of our stakeholders.

In our work with business development we have applied methods that have proven to be successful and have led to new and hopefully prosperous business relations between the local stakeholders.
