Description
Tourism in Tuscany is much more than the single art cities. There are dreaming beaches, woods, mountains up to 2.054 meters, thermae, ancient villages where artisans work wood, alabaster, leather, grand gourment restaurants, golf fields. 13% of national museum are located in Toscana all over its territory .In Toscana there are 11.000 hotels , camping and farm holidays, that allow 70.000 employees to work and 40 millions of visitors. Tourism contributes for the 8% to the regional GDP with a turnover of 9 billion of euro.
The Region invests to qualify services, personnel, improve the viability and transports, promote smaller centres and increases hospitality.
For the Region, the touristic offer can grow, and the opportunity to enjoy some wonder of this earth can be guaranteed to everyone, without defacing the landscape and the environment, without spoiling the life of residents, increasing the value of nature and protecting monuments.
The partecipation to PRESEVE gives the opportunity to share experiences on developing cultural heritage strategies based on sustainable terms.
Objectives in PRESERVE
To improve local and regional policies concerning concrete measures of sustainable tourism through sharing experiences and good practices that can be adapted to each region involved in the project
