Peer review in Avila (ES)
31 May - 3 June: Avila welcomes partners for a one-week Peer Review.
Partners from Sterea Ellada (GR), Alba (RO), Jönköping (SE) and AER spent 5 days in the province of Avila to measure the wide-range of tourism offered in this spanish province.

9 June 2010: Alytus invites local stakeholders and partners to a dissemination event.
Topics to be discussed during the event include the development of tourism activity in protected areas and potential of spa and health tourism.

Peer review in Észak-Alföld (HU)
12-16 April 2010: partners travel to Észak-Alföld to discover the wide ranging tourism offers in the region.
Partners from Styria (AT), Abruzzo (IT), Alytus (LT) and Örebro (SE) completed their second and final peer review in Észak-Alföld.

Mid-term Conference 16-18 March in Alba Iulia
16-18.03.2010: PRESERVE's mid-term dissemination conference on "European tourism in times of crisis: how regions use sustainability for stability.
The conference was an opportunity to discuss the lessons that can be drawn from the crisis and the long term prospects of this sector to come out stronger by harnessing tools of sustainability. The event offered a wide-range of activities, discussions and networking opportunities. The PRESERVE conference also marked the half-way milestone for the 14 partners of the consortium who will present their main findings.

Peer review in Banská Bystrica (SK)
19-23.10.2009: partners travel to Banská Bystrica to discover the wide ranging tourism offers in the region.
Partners from South Denmark (DK), Carinthia (AT) and Tuscany (IT) completed their peer review in Banská Bystrica. Tourism in this region varies from spa and health tourism to agro tourism. The sector is also active in the winter season.

Peer review in Örebro (SE)
22-26.06.2009: Örebro welcomes partners to the heart of Sweden for PRESERVE's first peer review.
Partners from Styria (AT), Abruzzo (IT), Alytus (LT) and Eszak-Alfôld (HU) travelled to Örebro for a week long study visit. The peers carried out numerous interviews and site visits to evaluate the potential and opportunities for the region to develop its sustainable tourism activities and offers.

PRESERVE officially launched!
05.02.2009: PRESERVE's official launch conference takes place in Brussels.
The event was coupled with a thematic conference on "the environment to trigger more sustainable tourism" and preceded by an AER Breakfast Briefing on financing tourism projects. Over 50 key stakeholders representing regions, chambers of commerces, EU institutions and other tourism actors took part in the debate to discuss the environmental impact and potential of European tourism.
